Luxury jewelry company Melànie D introduced their new diamond collection to an invitation-only crowd on Saturday, Jan. 14, 2017, at the luxurious Ritz-Carlton Buckhead in Atlanta. Guests were in awe of the 60-plus collection of one-of-a-kind, wearable works of art made with precious stones such as pink and orange sapphires, rubellite tourmaline and morganite.

Favorites among the guests included the Ame Soeur, Old Hollywood, Endless Sea and Red Slippers collections.

The evening showcased the designer’s standout creativity and unparalleled artistry. Melànie (the company’s namesake) welcomed and engaged with guests, sharing her journey as a new jewelry designer and why it was important for her to launch her company in honor of her father’s legacy.

Melànie’s artistic journey began with the loss of a diamond in a ring her mother gifted her after the untimely death of her father. Seeking to replace the unique stone, she located a jeweler in California to handle the repair.

As Melànie conversed with the jeweler, he asked about the history of her ring and she shared the story of her father. He asked her to send him the ring and days later returned it to Melànie with the signature two-teardrop diamonds once again in place.

The jeweler informed Melànie that there would be no charge for the repair, but instead he asked for one of her drawings in return. During the repair process, he noticed her incredible talent for design and asked for more jewelry sketches. “I started sketching and inspiration just took over,” says Melànie. Guests were surprised to learn that such extravagant pieces came from a company that was recently founded in October 2015.

Special guests in attendance included Shereé Whitfield (“Real Housewives of Atlanta”), actor Kevin Savage (“The Originals”), chef Jernard Wells (The Food Network) and a host of style influencers, media and bloggers and more.
