It’s been years since the world first learned that “Love & Hip Hop Atlanta” star Stevie J was facing trial over his million-plus dollars in unpaid child support. Since that time, many fans probably assumed that Stevie had either paid a good bit of the debt back or perhaps settled the case. However, new reports have revealed that the case is still ongoing and that Stevie is now facing jail time over the huge amount of money he owes.

Stevie was originally arrested in Georgia back in June of 2014 for failing to pay a gargantuan debt of more than $1 million spanning all the way back to 2001 when he originally stopped paying the $8,500 a month in child support that he was ordered to pay to his former girlfriend, the mother of two of his kids.

Since then, Stevie has been in and out of court and according to news reports, he currently still owes $1.3 million in unpaid fees.

According to sources, U.S. Attorney Preet Bharara believes that Stevie’s history of allegedly ducking and dodging his child support payments is disrespectful to the law.

In documents, Bharara points out that Stevie has been given multiple opportunities to rectify the situation and make payments. However, Stevie has fallen off track many times, including the occasions when he’s failed drug tests.

Now, Bharara wants Stevie to suffer some consequences for his delinquent child support and he’s asking that a judge put Stevie in jail for six months.

It appears as though Stevie has yet to respond to the latest reports, but we assume this might get some coverage in his latest reality show, “Leave It To Stevie.”
