Several witnesses identified Harris as the lone perpetrator. His attorney asked a Cook County judge for bond on Wednesday so Harris could attend his father’s funeral, but Harris was ordered held without bail in the Cook County Court.
Harris’ father had 47 arrests on his record according to authorities.
According to Superintendent Eddie Johnson, Harris himself has an “extensive juvenile history,” and he is “no stranger to CPD [Chicago Police Department] nor is he unfamiliar with using a weapon.”
