President Donald Trump could possibly be accused of being a traitor. According to a report by The Washington Post, Trump revealed highly classified information to Russian officials.

The leak occurred on May 10 when Trump met with Russia’s Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Ambassador Sergey Kislyak. The meeting happened one day after Trump fired FBI Director James Comey. Comey was fired because he was the head of an investigation into Russia’s involvement with the 2016 Presidential Election. The former FBI chief wanted more funding to investigate if Trump’s officials were also involved in helping Russia.

Trump, who alreayd created a situation where he appeared guilty, decided to hold a private meeting with Russian officials and did not invite any members of the U.S. press. However, Russia’s media was allowed to be in the room and took several photos.

During the meeting, Trump revealed details of an Islamic State terrorist threat related to the use of laptops on airplanes. Trump also rambled about the city where the threat initiated. The top secret info was revealed to the U.S. through an intelligence partner. The information allows Russia to discover the U.S. ally and possibly use it to their own advantage. Trump’s leak could also put lives in danger and create a form of distrust between the U.S. and their foreign allies.

The White House has yet to issue a statement on the report.
