Xscape getting reality show

Music fans were excited when Xscape announced a reunion a few months back. But now the group is taking it to another level by providing a docu-series.

One of the founding members, Kandi Burruss, said the all-girl R&B super group is already filming in Atlanta and the show will air on Bravo. It will reportedly air in November, when “RHOA” returns so it can leverage that show’s popularity.

The reality show will follow all four members — Kandi Burruss, Tameka “Tiny” Harris, LaTocha and Tamika Scott — as they prepare for their first performance in over 20 years, which takes place at Essence Festival later this month.

VH1’s mega-producer Mona Scott-Young of the “Love & Hip Hop” franchise, has signed on as executive producer.

Burruss shared what the experience may be like:

“[There are] going to be no days off. … I’m glad both shows are on Bravo,” Burruss said. “I’m so excited to work with [my best friend Tameka ‘Tiny’ Harris]. This is going to be our first time being on television together other than two seconds before. Now people get to see how close we are.”

As for the other two members of Xscape, LaTocha Scott and Tamika Scott, Burruss is anxious to see how their friendships will play out years after they disbanded.

“We hadn’t talked really in years. So now we’re having to rekindle our friendship and work relationship,” the musician told Us. “So let’s just say that’ll be interesting to watch. It’s going to be totally different because, with my group, it’s so emotional and personal. Other people have their college years to look at. Xscape was my college years.”

Hopefully, this reality show will be kinder to Burruss than season nine of “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.”
