After Floyd Mayweather defeated Conor McGregor, and he is retired yet again. But it feels like this is truly it. After his win, Mayweather shed some light on the next chapter of his life, the young fighters he mentors.

Mayweather said, ”These young fighters see Floyd Mayweather with all the watches, all the diamond chains, all the cars. They have to invest their money. That’s very, very important. And that’s what I try to teach them. Floyd Mayweather is able to buy a diamond chain, a car, a house, every month from smart investments.”

The perfect pugilist who retired 50-0 shared what he asks his billionaire buddies when he hangs out with them: “Teach me how you did it so I can do the same thing so my grandchildren, my great grandchildren can have this.”

Rolling out spoke exclusively to four boxers signed to Mayweather Promotions about Floyd Mayweather as a mentor.  This is what they had to say.

Badou Jack: “He’s been great. He’s the one who got me to this big stage. He gives me a lot of great advice. Not just in boxing, outside the ring too. Couldn’t ask for a better promoter.”

Ashley Theophane: “Floyd is great. If there’s anything you need to know, he is always there to help you. I have known the man for five and a half years now, I’ve worked with him for four and a half and he’s always been there for me and he’s always kept his word.”

Ishe Smith: “He’s like a big brother. Very supportive, very much concerned about a fighter’s well being. When you have somebody like that that cares about their fighters, cares about their well being, cares about their family’s well being, that’s so important. Overall, a great friend, a great human being. Takes care of a lot of guys. I’ve seen it. Different from other promoters. Helping guys with cars and rent money and bills, great advice and mentorship.”

Andrew Tabiti: “I’m a be honest with you, if I had $100 million, I probably wouldn’t work as hard as he still do, like I’m broke. Someone like that, that’s amazing to me, because I [would be] have been out the game. That’s why he’s TBE because, with that much money, this guy don’t supposed to be doing this. This is a poor man’s sport and for a man as rich as him to still train like he poor? It’s crazy. Still a winner? That’s amazing.”

As Mayweather enters his next chapter in life, he leaves us with the wisdom his shares with his boxers: “Wealth is something that is established to where you are getting millions every month.”
