3. Chance The Rapper

Since the release of his mixtape 10 Day, Chance has had a whirlwind of success. After dropping his second mixtape Acid Rap it seemed as though the stars aligned for him. Let’s put this all into perspective. This three-time Grammy Award winner gives all of his music away for free and has yet to sell an album. He uses his fame to support causes that are close to him, specifically the arts. Recently, he donated 2.2 million dollars to Chicago public schools to help support the arts. He clothes the homeless and remains one of the most sought after collaborators when it comes to rap. Chance is the spirit of the culture of hip-hop when you talk about it in the way that Bambata would put it “Love, peace and having fun.” Even his most aggressive tune “No Problems” has a happy face on it. Chance has turned the industry upside down by the way he monetizes it down to the causes he represents.
