Gentry returned to the head coaching role after winning a championship as an assistant with the Golden State Warriors in 2015. This season, the New Orleans Pelicans are above .500 and appear to be in the playoff race for the first time since, ironically, 2015. Anthony Davis and DeMarcus Cousins are the fifth and sixth highest scorers in the league right now, and point guard Rajon Rondo is coming off of a 25-assist game against the Brooklyn Nets. The team that didn’t appear to go well together appears to have somewhat figured it out this season.
