Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc. is celebrating 105 years of sisterhood, scholarship and service. The second oldest sorority in the Divine i n the National Pan-Hellenic Council (NPHC), a collaborative organization of nine historically African American, international Greek lettered fraternities and sororities.
DST was founded by 22 Black women on the campus of Howard University and incorporated on January 13, 1913. And, has grown to boast of a membership of more than 200K women globally. The sorority held it’s 53rd National Convention in 2017 in Las Vegas. A social service organization, DST focuses on five specific areas: organizational health, social action, community impact, empowering women and girls, and appreciating culture.
Beverly E. Smith currently serves at the Sorority’s 26th national president.
