It’s only the beginning of 2018, and Christian Combs is already coming harder than ever. Being only 19 years old, he’s accomplished a lot in the past two months, and only seems to be at the beginning of a long-lived career. Yes, Christian is a product of Sean “Puff Daddy” Combs, but that is only a portion of who this young man is, and he is doubtlessly determined to show the world what he has to offer.

After taking the stage name King Combs, the newly signed Bad Boy artist released his first major record with R&B artist Chris Brown. “Love You Better” is Christian’s first single off his 2018 anticipated album, and definitely reflects Diddy’s old school sound. Sampling vocals from 1988’s “Ease Back” by Ultramagnetic MCs, musical loops from “Touch Me Tease Me” by Case featuring Foxy Brown and Schoolly D’s track “P.S.K What Does It Mean?,” “ Love You Better” was definitely created to reflect an older feel, but successfully gives us a new school sound with Chris Brown’s smooth lyrics during the chorus.

Diddy’s contributions to the music industry are big shoes to fill, but Christian can become a mega superstar himself. His understanding of where music came from gives him the advantage of creating hits the older generation will connect with, and his rare knowledge of where music is going will give younger listeners the sound they’re not only familiar with, but also love.
