Award-winning rock ‘n’ roll photographer and artist Neal Hamilton stopped by the rolling out studio to discuss his latest piece, “Six Degrees of Musical Genius.” poster series. The poster features images of Hamilton’s famous portraits of music legends that include blues legend Leadbelly, Grace Jones, Tupac, Prince and many others.
Hamilton has a unique style that has its roots in a house fire.
“It started with a fire. I was the official photographer for the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame and had covered a lot of musicians and bands. Then one day a house fire destroyed all my belongings. But I was able to move to another house that I owned and I had to start over. But the only supplies I had were three cans of latex house paint (orange, red and black), screwdrivers, putty knives and razor blades,” he recalled.
To this day, Hamilton uses the same tools to create masterpieces that have been seen on TV and the big screen. His art can be purchased through his online studio at https://the-art-of-Neal-Hamilton.myshopify.com/
