Rap star Offset is reportedly under investigation after the Migos rap group member left the scene of a significant car crash in Atlanta and checked himself into a hospital.

The fiance of fellow rapper Cardi B swerved at the last minute to avoid a pedestrian who had wandered onto the highway, members of his entourage said according to TMZ.

Fortunately, the ATL native, born Kiari Kendrell Cephus, left the hospital with only minor injuries after he crashed his car in Atlanta on May 17.

TMZ reported that the accident is still under investigation by officials who are trying to find out what circumstances led to the accident.

So far, officers know Offset, 26, was involved in a single-car crash. But they are eager to know why Offset failed to notify the police after the accident. A passerby notified the Atlanta Police Department of the episode.

TMZ also said police are currently looking into whether Offset was with anyone when the accident occurred.

Most of all, authorities want to understand why Offset fled after the accident.

Suspicions were heightened when, as the green sports car was being towed away, two unidentified individuals arrived on the scene to retrieve items from inside the whip, TMZ stated.

They were the ones who were reportedly overheard saying Offset swerved to miss the person walking on the expressway.

Officers have yet to corroborate whether Offset was driving the car when the accident happened.

There are no witnesses who have come forward and Offset has not commented to police nor the media.

Cardi B, who frantically raced to the hospital to see about Offset, had this to say on her Twitter account: “Soo grateful and happy today,’ she wrote. ‘God be giving messages in the weirdest ways. I love you @OffsetYRN.”
