Upon entering the home and going to the backyard, officers found three women dead. The  victims were identified as Eddie Mae Wofford, 67, Miyuki Wofford, 49, and Kyisha Wofford, 26; they were the grandmother, mother and sister of Forte. Family members say Kyisha Wofford may have been pregnant when she was murdered by her brother.

Forte was taken in for questioning  by police and eventually charged with three counts of homicide for killing his family members. According to WLBT-News, neighbors were shocked by the murders. One neighbor, Jerla West, stated to the media, “Don’t no one know what’s going on behind closed doors. You gotta whole family that’s destroyed. … He wiped out three generations, three generations; grandmother, mother and sister.”

He is currently being held without bond and is awaiting a court appearance. Police have not determined what led to the shooting.
