Warryn and Erica Campbell are gospel music’s most talked about if not most controversial couple. Their willingness to push the often narrow Christian boundaries and discuss the past infidelity in their marriage and to tackle issues like sex and sexuality within a Christian marriage are rare finds in the gospel community. The stars of TV One’s hit family reality show, “We’re the Campbells” stopped by reality check to discuss the staying power of their relationship and what they would’ve done differently early on in their marriage if they had the knowledge they have today.

“If I knew then what I know now, I would’ve married her when I first met her,” Warryn says simply. “If I knew what she would mean to me and to my purpose, I wouldn’t have waited so long. The Bible says when a man finds a wife, he finds a good thing and finds favor. She is my favor.”

Erica was touched by her husband’s words but admitted she had to learn to let go of pride and her ego in order to be a better wife to her husband. “A lot of times we don’t think of women as having an ego, but it’s there. We don’t want to look a certain way. I had to learn to let go and let God work it out.”

The Campbells have made headlines several times this year with their candor about sexuality within a Christian marriage. “Sex is better within marriage. … There’s nothing wrong with enjoying how your partner looks outside as much as you enjoy their heart and connection to God,” Erica says.

The couple had an opportunity to showcase their love for God and how that love mirrors the love they have for each other in their single, “All of My Life.”

“I wrote the record to show how much God is the center of my life and this relationship I have with him, this love I have for him is for all of my life. The fact that it is also the way I feel about my wife is a double blessing,” Warren says.
