Instead of cramming for midterms, a college student decided to use her free time to hire a hitman to kill her ex-lover, police said.
Avalone Fishback, 20, a student at Langston University in Oklahoma, allegedly reached out to four people to kill her ex-boyfriend. Lee’s Summit Police said they were initially tipped off by a man who said Fishback asked him to kill someone while they were chatting on the dating app Plenty of Fish.
Police then notified the Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation and the FBI.
Fishback also asked another man, who said he would kill her boyfriend for $1,000 and dump his body. She also admitted to a speaking to a man who agreed on Sept. 28 to commit the crime for $600.
On Oct. 3, police arrested Fishback in her dorm room and charged her with first-degree solicitation of murder. She is currently being held at Logan County Jail on a $150,000 bond.
Fishback told police that she wanted to kill her boyfriend “because he had betrayed her, lied to her mother and broke off the relationship.”
If convicted, Logan could receive five years in prison.
