An Atlanta man has been arrested and charged with killing a pregnant teenage girl. Souleyman Diallo, 20, was arrested for the murder of Sonja Star Harrison, 14, on Nov. 22, according to the Atlanta Journal-Constitution.
On Nov. 19, Harrison was in an apartment at the Pavilion Palace in Southwest Atlanta when a bullet entered the ceiling and struck her in the head. She was babysitting her nephews at the time. She was expected to give birth on New Year’s Eve.
Initial reports suggested that Diallo was the father of the girl’s child. However, Sonja Denise Harrison, Sonja’s mother, told the AJC that Diallo was not the father.
Diallo was not a stranger to law enforcement. He had previously been arrested for shoplifting, disorderly conduct, cruelty to children, willful obstruction of law enforcement, public drunkenness, public indecency, possession of controlled substances and probation violations.
He has been charged with second-degree murder and causing the death of an unborn child.
If convicted, Diallo faces life in prison.
