Normally, hip hop youngsters are the ones who can’t seem to prevent their pent-up emotions from bursting through the surface. But in the case of the “Love & Hip Hop: Miami” reunion show, rap icon Trina annihilated Miami pioneer Trick Daddy during their mutual blowup, stemming from two-decade-old hostilities and resentments.

Trina, born Katrina Laverne Taylor, and Trick Daddy, whose real name is Maurice Young, famously collaborated on the career-defining classic cut “Nann” back in 1998. They have been married musically ever since. However, they had a show-stopping showdown emanating from current and previous collaborations — and the fact that Trina helped Trick Daddy’s wife of 16 years, Amane Joy Burnett Young, get a divorce from him.

The two 44-year-olds are the icons who helped build up the Miami hip-hop scene. But it appears that any vestige of mutual respect left over from the late 1990s has now evaporated.

There is some speculation that the “I’m a Thug” emcee and “No Panties” femme fatale, who help power the popular LHHMIA weekly reality show, are creating a storyline that will last throughout next season. Or perhaps the two are creating a buzz in advance of an upcoming collaborative album or single. But as you can view from the clips below, the fire coming from both of them seemed authentic and raw.

Watch here as Trina mauls Trick over real and perceived slights:

In this clip from earlier in the season, Trick is incensed that Trina gave his wife the money to proceed with the divorce from him.
