Diddy continues to mourn the untimely passing of Kim Porter — the mother of four of his kids, who died in 2018.
Days before Mother’s Day, Diddy shared his thoughts on experiencing the holiday without Porter during an interview on Essence’s podcast.
“This Mother’s Day is going to hurt,” Diddy said, in the vulnerable moment. “We’re definitely going to celebrate all the mothers..but honestly anybody that’s lost a mother lost a soulmate, it takes time. They say time heals all wounds when it comes to your mother…but I don’t think that’s the case.”
Diddy also shared that Porter taught him about life and the power of love.
“God sent her for me to teach me something,” he said. “There’s levels and dimensions to love, and especially love between a man and woman. There’s this place that almost goes beyond friendship. It’s where two people actually feel like a level of responsibility to love this person forever; and a total trust.”
On Nov. 24, 2018, more than 2,500 family members and friends paid their final respects to Kim Porter during her homegoing service at Cascade Hills Church in Columbus, Georgia. The service was officiated by Bishop Noel Jones, who also delivered the eulogy.
