Parents of students who attend the school have reportedly spoken out about race issues at the school in the past. Although about one-third of the students are Black, there are only a few Black teachers at the school.
Palmdale School District Superintendent, Raul Maldonado released a statement that said: “This afternoon it has been brought to the Palmdale School District’s attention that an incident involving the discovery of a noose and possibly inappropriate responses to that discovery occurred at Summerwind Elementary School.”
Brandts has since been placed on administrative leave pending an investigation.
Why does ANYONE, especially if you’re white, think it’s a good idea to pose with a noose, or even have their hands on a noose? https://t.co/4yALBh6hwX

Some white people are sick in their fascinations with hangings and noose. Can you imagine how they’re treating the Black and Hispanic children in that school? And they are planning to promote this psychotic racist, POS, to a position of real power? Fire ALL of them!! https://t.co/asK9tZUAiQ
