Secondly, as FS1 analyst Greg Jennings pointed out, the NFL handed down this rigid, non-negotiable itinerary that Kaepernick’s people don’t like but must abide by if they want to get “Kaep” back in the league.
Details on Colin Kaepernick’s Saturday workout at the #Falcons facility that has the feel of a Combine:
— It begins at 3 pm
— Interview is at 3:15 pm
— Measurements, stretching & warmups are next.
— Timing & testing at 3:50 pm
— QB drills at 4:15

Thirdly, Kaepernick reportedly protested the fact that they were not able to have the workout on a Tuesday, but could not change the day. Also, Jennings said the NFL refused to move the workout to the following Saturday to give Kaepernick more time to prepare and impress his gridiron judges at the moment of truth. Again the NFL declined to move the date back.
Finally, why did it take the NFL three long years before they came to this conclusion to give Kaepernick a chance to even audition? “Speak for Yourself” co-host Marcellus Wiley speculates the NFL did this in order to fulfill the out-of-court settlement after Kaepernick and former teammate Eric Reid sued the league for collusion and won.
The NFL also isn’t slick. If it’s true that Kaep has to fall in line to get a job, then that’s not a real opportunity. That also proves for the umpteeth time that him being out of the league was never about football.

Despite the odds seemingly against Kaepernick, he stated he is ready to put on a show for head coaches and general managers. How many will be in attendance is the question.
I’m just getting word from my representatives that the NFL league office reached out to them about a workout in Atlanta on Saturday. I’ve been in shape and ready for this for 3 years, can’t wait to see the head coaches and GMs on Saturday.
