Why does photography mean so much to you?
Photography has been a gift. I can’t say I am creating masterpieces that will be seen in art galleries hundreds of years from now, but I can say that every single person that I come in contact with genuinely has a story, a dream and a goal. If I can be a small conduit to bring whatever it is that they need to fruition, I am so grateful I am trusted to be a part.
What is one passion project that you are hoping to pursue in the future?
I am currently working on a very important passion project near and dear to my heart and soul. Being a woman of color who is also engaged to a woman of color can be a very interesting dynamic to navigate when it comes to being “seen.” I live in a very small bubble in Atlanta where I get to see loving, successful, “normal,” same-sex couples, especially women of color. But that is not the norm around the country. My fiancée is a therapist, very normal. The project I am working on will highlight some of the most encouraging success stories from the most inspiring women I know, who just so happen to be in committed relationships with other women of color.
