What are the three indispensable elements of making a good mix?
I would say [the] three elements of making a great mix [include] selection, like figuring out what you’re going to play, knowledge of the instruments in the song, because you have to find songs and instruments that complement each other, and then understanding how to read a crowd. Some people can’t read a crowd, so they’ll play records at the wrong time and the songs won’t mix with the energy of the audience.
Where are you currently spinning?
I’m really spinning everywhere. I just got back from a two-week tour in Australia that ended in New Zealand. Prior to that, I was spinning in Mexico. You can catch me in Atlanta at various spots, the Lava Lounge on Sundays, L Bar and a bunch of private events. But I’m primarily on the road.
