Johnniqua, her sister, iMarkkeyz and I had a great talk. She was just sharing with us how we motivated her. She said if this song hadn’t blown up, she would be still in the streets. It’s beautiful how music can change people’s lives sometimes. That was inspiring for me as well.
How does it make you feel that you were able to help this woman with your music?
I think God works in a lot of mysterious ways. Your life can change in a matter of seconds. Her sister had to go three hours away and find her walking the streets. She was getting stopped by random people asking her was she the girl in the video, and she had no idea what was going on. I was like, “You gotta find your sister. We need her.” And she says she ain’t going back, so that’s a blessing in itself.
