Eddie Murphy wins 1st Emmy, 40 years after debut on ‘SNL’ (video)

Murphy, who also created blockbuster franchises with Dr. Doolittle and The Nutty Professor movies and their sequels, indicated that he’s been inspired to return to live comedy for the first time since his comedy concert movie, 1987’s RAW, set box-office records that stand to this day.

“It’s so special because it was 36 years to the day since I was on the show,” Murphy told reporters in a video call. “For it to turn out the way it turned out and this on top of it. … It’s just really really special.”
