Young Thug aroused the ire of hip-hop nation when he claimed Jay-Z does not have 30 songs that people can recite from memory like fans can with his own songs.
Young Thug made the outlandish statement on Gillie Da Kid’s “Million Dollaz Worth of Game” podcast on Tuesday, Dec. 28, 2020. While in a self-congratulatory mood, the 29-year-old rapper born Jeffrey Lamar Williams was obviously not trying to ingratiate himself with the legends in the game. Just a month ago, Thugger also insulted luminary Andre 3000 of the pioneering rap group OutKast by saying he “never paid attention to him.” They were both reared in Atlanta.
Now Thug tried to say he has more memorable hits than Jay. He said while he has at least 30 hits that makes concert crowds go crazy, he then said that “Jay-Z ain’t got 30 songs like that.”
Thug’s smug posture immediately softened when he observed the quizzical look etched into Gillie’s face. Philly rapper Gillie tried to respond diplomatically when he said Jay-Z “got a lot, though.”
That’s when Young Thug tried to quickly retreat from his statement about Jay.
“I’m just saying like, I know he do, he probably got 50 of them b—-es,” said Thug. “I’m not literally saying him. I’m saying n—-s who you thinking …”

Rap fans offered an emphatic rebuke of Thug’s bizarre bantering.
He want attention so bad. I have to laugh 😂. Evey Hov concert I’ve been to the audience recited every lyric verbatim.
