A man armored with courage and conviction, Warnock is strengthened by the righteousness of those who walked through fire to make Georgia and the nation better for all. “Dr. King said, ‘We are caught up in an inescapable network of mutuality, tied in a single garment of destiny. Whatever affects one directly, affects all indirectly.’ If we did not know that before a COVID-19 pandemic, we should certainly know it now,” Warnock said. “Dealing with an airborne, deadly disease, it reminds us that we are as close to one another as a cough. And if my neighbor’s health is unprotected, so is mine.”
Warnock believes all these lessons are as basic as the biblical command to “love your neighbor.” He understands that this means something different to each person in their daily lives. But this is the principle that will lead him in making decisions that will impact each of the citizens of Georgia.
“In practical terms, that means you should be helping people in the middle of a pandemic, not trying to get rid of their health care or deprive them of benefits and protections against eviction,” he said. “As a U.S. senator, I intend to continue my lifelong work to protect and uplift human dignity, and my priorities will always be outcomes that protect all Georgia families.”
