Hall’s accomplishments during her tenure as commissioner include allocating $640,000 to Fulton County’s Board of Health to help eradicate HIV and AIDS. Through the board’s #STOPHIVATL campaign, she also purchased mobile units to provide education, testing and treatment.
“We were able to begin to tackle HIV and AIDS in Fulton County in a more productive way,” Hall said. She also created jobs by hiring people from the community to educate their fellow constituents about the services.
Additionally, Hall allocated more than $1 million for services for the county’s rapidly growing senior population. Seniors in her district now enjoy enhanced transportation choices, meal deliveries, repair services, social activities and classes.
Hall’s work to aid the county’s homeless population remains at the top of her list of accomplishments, which also includes providing housing placement, rent assistance and programs. “As a public servant, you need to get out of your cushy office and take the service and the programs to the people,” she said.
Hall’s present mission is helping her constituents who are impacted by the COVID-19 pandemic with food distribution, arranging Uber and Lyft rideshares and brainstorming virtual activities for the county’s youth.
While Hall said her constituents’ concerns keep her up at night, they also serve as her daily motivation. “This is not hard work,” she added. “It’s heart work.”
