Name one life lesson that no one taught you but should have.

Financial literacy. In the Black community, one of the main pieces of information we lack is having a foundation in financial literacy. When I talk to friends and coworkers that are from different ethnic [and] cultural backgrounds, they all learned about financial literacy at a young age, enabling them to build generational wealth early in their lives.

Share one of your fondest memories of an experience you had with your father, grandfather or father figure.

I can’t really pinpoint one memory since there are so many with my father. One thing I will say in terms of the legacy he continues to leave with me is spending time with the ones he loves, supporting our passions, and balancing out being a father, friend, mentor and inspiration to me and everyone around him.

I like to describe myself as a pen pro. I believe everything begins with the pen. To no fault of its own, this generation has turned in its pen for a keyboard, but the concept remains the same: Write from the heart… Write from the start.
