A Chicago-based rapper was shot and killed after he was struck by 64 bullets across the street from the jail that he had just been released from on Saturday, July 10, 2021.

According to the police report, rapper KTS Dre was ambushed by more than one assailant in the Little Village neighborhood of Chicago shortly after exiting the infamous jail, the Chicago Tribune reports.

An unidentified 60-year-old woman who was with KTS Dre, whose birth name is Londre Sylvester, was struck once in the knee, but she is expected to survive. A female bystander was reportedly grazed in the mouth by one of the dozens of bullets.

It appears Sylvester was the intended target while [the women] were inadvertently struck,” the police report states as obtained by the Tribune

Not surprisingly, KTS was rushed to a local hospital where he was officially pronounced dead at 9:25 p.m. on Saturday. Ironically, KTS had a target-looking tattoo on the front of his neck.

KTS was outfitted with an electronic monitoring device, then released. He was walking with the older woman to a waiting vehicle when several unknown (suspects) exited two separate vehicles and all began to shoot in Sylvester’s direction, striking him numerous times,” according to the police report.

Police are hoping that the shooters will be identified as the block where KTS Dre was shot is equipped with multiple surveillance cameras. The police report stated that the assailants got into different cars after the shooting and took off in different directions.
