Have trouble focusing? Try these 5 tips to improve your attention span

Train your brain

Certain games can help improve your attention span like crossword puzzles, scrabble, sodoku, and chess. Studies have shown that just spending 15 minutes a day, five days a week playing one of these games can have a huge benefit on your ability to concentrate. They have also been shown to enhance your short-term memory and problem-solving skills.

Chew a piece of gum

Now, this may not be a way to necessarily improve your attention span in the long term, but it can certainly be used as a hack to heighten your ability to concentrate in the moment. Chewing gum can increase your overall alertness which can also lead to a boost in concentration and work performance.

Try out meditation

Meditation can help you relax and stop you from worrying about “what could’ve been” or “what ifs” which is where our minds often go when we are unable to focus. Even just short sessions of meditation can have tremendous effects on improving your overall attention span for the long term.
