It looks like Kevin Hart and Jonathan Todd Jackson may possibly be making amends. Jackson, a former member of Hart’s crew, The Plastic Cup Boyz, was accused previously of trying to blackmail the married comedian and actor after he was found with a woman in Las Vegas.

The 44-year-old Jackson, who is also a comedian, was initially charged with trying to extort money from Hart over a video of the Jumanji star with another woman who wasn’t his wife. The criminal case was dismissed Sept. 29, 2021, against Jackson after the prosecution announced it was unable to proceed with the latest two counts of identity theft. Previous extortion charges against Jackson were dropped in 2019.

“I’m really glad to see the end result of the case being dismissed. It took a really long time for my client to get justice. He never committed any criminal offense against Kevin Hart or anyone else. There was never any demand made for any money. There was never any extortion attempt,” Jackson’s attorney, Jacob Glucksman, told City News Service.

Hart refused to be blackmailed and acknowledged the indiscretion himself in 2017. The drama was also touched on in Hart’s Netflix docu-series “Don’t F— This Up.”

“I put myself in a bad environment where only bad things can happen, and they did. And in doing that, I know that I’m going to hurt the people closest to me, who I talked to and apologized to. That would be my wife and kids,” Hart stated in a video at the time.

Jackson was facing up to four years in prison and previously stated that Hart made him a scapegoat and made up the extortion story to cover up his cheating. The defense attorney said his client and Hart — whom he described as very close friends for years — are “engaged in ongoing amicable discussions to resolve their personal issues” and that “Kevin Hart was in agreement with the dismissal of the case.”
