Pharrell Williams explains why he pulled his music festival from Virginia

William’s letter was a response to a letter written by Duhaney where he stated the city expressed “immense disappointment” over the fact that Skateboard P might not be returning with Something In The Water in 2022. The inaugural festival was launched in April 2019 and included performances from the likes of Usher, Diddy, Travis Scott, Migos, Dave Matthews Band, Missy Elliott, SZA, Lil Uzi Vert, Pusha T, Snoop, Timbaland and Jay-Z. It was scheduled to return next year after being put on hold because of COVID-19.

“Until the gatekeepers and the powers-that-be consider the citizens and the consumer base, and no longer view the idea of human rights for all as a controversial idea… I don’t have any problems with the city, but I realize the city hasn’t valued my proposed solutions, either,” he continued in the letter.
