Public Enemy hype an Flavor Flav may have rapped that “911 Is A Joke” but authorities recently responded to a call and arrested the 62-year-old rapper over a domestic violence incident.
According to TMZ, Flavor Flav, born William Jonathan Drayton Jr,. was booked on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery in Henderson, Nevada, on Oct. 5, 2021, after cops responded to a domestic disturbance. The unidentified victim alleges the “Cold Lampin” MC poked his finger at her nose, grabbed her, threw her to the ground and snatched a phone out of her hand. Flavor Flav was officially charged with misdemeanor battery constituting domestic violence.
Flavor Flav’s attorney, David Chesnoff, spoke with TMZ and said the rapper and reality TV star would tell his side in court.
“In alleged domestic violence cases, there are often two sides to the story. And we will explain our side in the courtroom and not in the media,” Chesnoff told the media outlet.
The veteran rapper seems to be on the road to sobriety as he shared news of his recovery process on Instagram on Monday, Oct. 18.
