Simone Biles launches mental health app, Cerebral

“After suppressing so many emotions and putting up a front on a global scene, I think, really all of that came to light. My body and my mind allowed me to suppress all of that stuff for so many years for as long as it could take and as soon as we stepped onto the Olympic scene it just decided it couldn’t do it anymore and it cracked,” she also stated.

Biles is currently the star of the Gold Over America Tour, which is a celebration of powerful female athletes who, together, are a united force proudly representing the sport of women’s gymnastics and inspiring the next generation of athletes. The tour wraps up on Nov. 7 and tickets can be purchased at www.goldoveramericatour.com. Take a look at the interview below as Biles encourages others to get mental help if they need it and obliterate the taboo in the African American community.
