The 55-year-old Martinez was released from prison in 2015 and had been living under witness protection but visited his native Harlem on several occasions. Martinez was found behind the wheel of a Dodge Ram on Frederick Douglass Blvd. near W. 152nd St. after several gunshots were fired into his vehicle early Sunday morning.
According to news reports, his truck rear-ended another motorist and then crashed into three parked cars. The driver in the other vehicle told police he heard the shots but didn’t see what happened. Martinez had been living in Maine under the name Abraham Rodriguez.
