Alicia Lauchner shares the inspiration for writing ‘I Love My Me’

Alicia Lauchner shares the inspiration for writing 'I Love My Me'

What should readers and audiences expect from the book?
First of all, as a mom of three, I often preferred reading the short, fun books with lots of rhyming words and catchy phrases, especially at bedtime. Readers can expect a quick, delightful read. As simple as this book is, it guarantees smiles, warmth, cuteness and self-awareness. There are only two characters, one older child helping to build the self-confidence of the younger. This book reads great in just that way [ex: parent and child reading it together].

Do you have a specific writing style?
Yes. For sure — short, sweet, quirky and rhymey. I like to get right to the point.

What does literary success look like to you?
Literary success to me is reading something that leaves the reader wanting more. It’s the story that evokes something in you that you didn’t know was there or lay dormant. It’s the book you tell others about. It’s the book that makes it to the bedtime story rotation.

What’s next for you?
I am currently working on the next two books in the Amiyah D’or series. One of them will be co-authored with my younger son. I’m very excited about that!
