Keaomee Horne pens 1st book to inspire her daughter

Was it a deliberate decision to write Nei, My Hope for You?
No, it wasn’t a deliberate decision to write Nei, My Hope for You. I have a good friend from college [who] is an author and this was a conversation between him and I, with me giving him some thoughts on his next book. He told me that he wanted me to write the book and a few years later Nei, My Hope for You was written.

What was the hardest part of writing this book?
The hardest part of writing the book was me getting out of my own way. My brain would tell me you can’t write a book, you are not an author, etc. The other part that was hard writing this book was trying to not write too [many words] but still writing enough to get the point across to children.

What’s next for you?
The sky is the limit! I will write another book for sure. I am driven by that “passion” that “thing” that won’t let me sleep, that won’t let me think about anything else and that “thing” that won’t leave me alone. For me that includes a few things and I’m so grateful to God for gifting me with so many passions. The sky is the limit, I’m just getting started.
