Fat Joe made a new career move when COVID-19 had everyone locked down and he launched his podcast “The Fat Joe Show.” Originally broadcasting on Instagram Live, the “Lean Back” rapper had so much success that it branched off into partnerships with Apple and Revolt TV.
After taking his interviewing skills to the next level, he and his Terror Squad cohort Remy Ma have been announced as guest hosts for “The Wendy Williams Show.” Fat Joe and Remy Ma will take over for Williams’ show on Tuesday, Nov. 23, and Wednesday, Nov. 24. Remy Ma has flexed her hosting skills in the past as a co-host on Joe Budden’s Revolt series, “State of the Culture.”
MTV’s Devyn Simone, Variety’s Elizabeth Wagmeister, author Bevy Smith and comedian Michael Yo, will host the show together on Monday, Nov. 22 as well. Williams has been absent from her show since testing positive for COVID-19 in September and then taking time off for medical reasons. The popular talk show host is also battling Graves Disease, an auto-immune disorder affecting the thyroid, which also caused her to take leave back in May 2020. Williams hit up IG earlier this month to give her fans a un update on her recovery and pending return.
“HOW YOU DOIN’? I MISS YOU ALL! As everyone knows, my health has been a hot topic. I’m making progress but it’s just one of those things that’s taking longer than we expected. I’m a woman of a certain age, and I know enough to listen to my doctors and will return to my purple chair as soon as we all agree I’m ready. I want to thank all of my staff and our guest hosts for stepping up and stepping in while I can’t be there. I also want to thank Debmar-Mercury and our stations for being so understanding and supportive while I work my way back.
“Most of all, I want to thank my fans. I have heard your prayers and comments and feel all the love! You are everything to me. I love spending my mornings with you all and I’m doing everything I can to get back to work, but right now Wendy has to focus on Wendy. I love you for watching,” she wrote.
