R&B singer Syleena Johnson is returning to the small screen next week when her new series “One Stage to the Next” premieres with the first back-to-back episodes on Dec. 14, 2021, on TV One. The 45-year-R&B diva recently entered the world of fitness competition and had a crew record her struggle to remain fit and lose 60 pounds while maintaining her music career. She wrote about her latest project on Instagram and how it was five years in the making.

“Let’s goooooo!!!! I mentioned I had this dream in 2016, I came to Georgia Dawkins, Michael Witherspoon and @shanaynorvell in the beginning, but I got sidetracked starting Sister Circle, the following year! they were the originals! The first ones to believe! Michael Witherspoon still filmed with me and @shanaynorvell was there every step of the way!

“Georgia moved on to a different platform, but she was the one who helped me launch the @sheleanlifestyle website and brand ♥️ I wanted to shout them out because they were there when the dream first happened! It was me who wasn’t ready, but I finally got to the finish line 🙏🏽♥️💪🏾 experience my story December 14th blood sweat and tears to the finish on @tvonetv ♥️ at 10pm est! Johnson posted on IG.”

Johnson also narrates her series and serves as one of the executive producers of the show. She previously worked with TV One when she starred on the reality series “R&B Divas: Atlanta” which ran from 2012-2014. She  added that returning to work with the network feels like family in a clip from TV One’s website.

“I wanted to challenge myself to conquer the unknown. I wanted to change not just my body, but my mind, my heart, and my life. I have always felt like TV One is family, but words can’t express how grateful and excited I am to be the creator and executive producer of my own story.

“Partnering with familiar faces and brilliant minds that I trust have allowed me to tell my story on this amazing platform. I’m truly thankful for Michelle Rice, Jason Ryan, Alison Threadgill, and Donyell Kennedy-McCullough for believing in and seeing this vision,” she further added.
