LaMelo Ball finally has the opportunity to return to the same court as his older brother LiAngelo.
On Dec. 14, the Greensboro Swarm announced the baby Ball has been assigned to the Charlotte Hornets’ G-League affiliate as he returns from the NBA’s health and safety protocols. On the Swarm is LiAngelo Ball, who has averaged 9 points and 12 minutes per game this season. After not playing in six games, LiAngelo scored 14 points in 15 minutes in the Swarm’s 101-96 win over Ciudad De Mexico on Dec. 10. In the Swarm’s season-opener against the Birmingham Squadron, LiAngelo scored 22 points.
LaVar Ball, LaMelo and LiAngelo’s father, told rolling out LiAngelo is better than LaMelo, the star of the Hornets. LiAngelo played with LaMelo at Chino Hills High School in California as well as in Lithuania and in the JBA. LaVar also said he believes the Hornets would beat the Chicago Bulls, currently the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference, in a playoff series if LiAngelo was on the roster with LaMelo. Lonzo Ball, the eldest brother, is the starting point guard for the Bulls.
This season ats the Hornets starting point guard, LaMelo Ball has averaged 20 points, 8.3 assists and 7.7 rebounds per game. Earlier this month, the Hornets had five players in health and safety protocols: LaMelo, Terry Rozier, Mason Plumlee, Jalen McDaniels and Ish Smith. As of Dec. 14, Charlotte is the eighth seed in the Eastern Conference with a 15-14 record.
