When you’re bringing art into the community, do you ever think about how people should approach it? For example, why should parents know that art changes a child’s life?
Definitely, that connection with [the] community [is important]. [For children] to see themselves reflected in the art and to see what we do here, represents something that is important culturally, and historically, that is related to the priorities of the audience of our communities, of their interests, and of their experiences. That’s essential to what we do here at the museum, what we should do and this exhibition is kind of a master class. This is about you and your experience and you’re a part of this cultural heritage.
