Nikkita Randle, founder of Twisted Eggroll, shares her idea of success

What has been your biggest win?

The biggest win thus far was getting financial funding. I knew Twisted Eggroll was an amazing product but it makes it hard to scale the business to growth with personal funds alone. In the CPG [consumer packaged goods] realm most partnerships want a net 30 option for payment. Having to float liquid to fund product, payroll, etc with no revenue coming for 30 days requires a healthy financial cushion.

What do you know now that you wish you would have known sooner when growing your business?

I wish I would have been more knowledgeable about business credit. I definitely understood the old saying,”Borrow money when you don’t need it.” I did not know that I would have to be a guarantor for all business lending. I would have borrowed the money while I was still working my corporate job and would have been well funded when the moments arose.
