It’s been a tough week for Ye West on the internet. After going on multiple rants about Kim Kardashian, Pete Davidson, Trevor Noah, and D.L. Hughley, Instagram decided to suspend his account.

Shortly after being suspended, somebody organized a petition on March 16 to stop West from performing at Coachella.

Created by a user by the name of “Kim Pete,” the description says “We have watched Kanye harass, manipulate, and hurt Kim, Pete, and others for over a year now. No one seems to want to stand up to him, and the ones that do, he puts under fire as well. Most recently, he has been threatening actual bodily harm on others. This is ridiculous that he is allowed to freely do this. Coachella (along with other brand names that are still working with him) should be ashamed of themselves and should not be giving him any more of a platform. Please sign & share!”

Over 5,00 people have signed the petition, as the goal is to get to 7,500. Apparently, many think when they reach that goal, the petition will get a reaction from a decision-maker.

What they probably fail to realize is that West will bring the music festival a lot of money if he performs, and in this world money is everything. Also, according to Wikipedia, an average of 50,000 people attend Coachella each day during the festival.

Can 7,500 people move the needle for Coachella to drop the rapper from the lineup? We’ll soon find out.
