A former federal agent may have had advanced knowledge of the racist bloodbath in Buffalo allegedly perpetrated by White supremacist Payton Gendron.

A retired agent, who has not been identified, is under investigation by the U.S. Department of Justice, two law enforcement sources told The Buffalo News. He was one of seven people who had regular contact with Gendron leading up to the violent episode.

Meanwhile, the FBI is working to track down the other six individuals who, upon questioning, could be charged as accomplices in the racially-motivated bloodbath at the Tops supermarket that killed 10 African Americans and injured three.

“These were like-minded people who used this chat group to talk about their shared interests in racial hatred, replacement theory and hatred of anyone who is Jewish, a person of color or not of European ancestry,” one of the officials told the news outlet.

The newspaper reports that up to 15 people were invited to join the Discord app about 30 minutes before the shooting.

“What is especially upsetting is that these six people received advance notice of the Buffalo shooting, about 30 minutes before it happened,” the source told the newspaper.

“The FBI has verified that none of these people called law enforcement to warn them about the shooting. The FBI database shows no advance tips from anyone that this shooting was about to happen,” the official added.
