Former talk show queen Wendy Williams incited a social media frenzy when she announced to a major media outlet that she is married — only to have her representative deny it.

Williams hopped on the phone to personally reveal to “Hollywood Unlocked” founder Jason Lee that she indeed had gotten married to a New York Police Department officer named Henry.

Not long after surprising marriage announcement, along the frenzy it sparked nationwide, Williams’ manager told the New York Post’s Page Six column that his boss’s announcement was false.

“That’s inaccurate,” Selby told the newspaper.

During the interview, Selby elaborated on why Williams would make such a claim if it was not true.

“She is excited about a new relationship and probably got carried away in conversation,” he said while refusing to name the person whom she is involved with. “Wendy doesn’t wish to disclose details at the moment.”

On Wednesday, “Hollywood Unlocked” got Williams back on the phone to clarify the confusion created by the conflicting statements from her and her manager, because as Lee stated, it’s making her look “crazy.”

Williams then doubled down on her assertion that she was indeed a married woman. She also had choice words for her longtime manager Selby.

“Everybody seems to have a problem with that. I’m married,” Williams said resolutely to Lee. “I’m married! I don’t care who knows it.”

Lee then asked that, if she is really married, then what would motivate Selby to contradict her publicly to a major national outlet?

“Will sees no point in me getting married. But you know what? F— Will,” Williams barked. “Fourteen years I’ve known him. I’ve always said f— him … in a good way.”

Popular culture remains perplexed and flummoxed by the pronouncement and counter statements. Check out the report in full below.
