Beyoncé fans are letting Kelis have it for allowing two Asian women to play in her hair and study it for an extended period of time, and saying nothing to them, yet had so much anger for the Renaissance singer.

Kelis posted a video for her 940K Instagram followers in which foreigners, who did not speak English, were clearly studying the texture of her hair while Kelis sat there uncomfortably and making faces.

After the two Asian women kept feeling Kelis’ hair and moving it around, Kelis turned around to touch one of the women’s hair. The taller woman then gave Kelis the “thumbs up” gesture since they were unable to communicate due to the language barrier.

Beyoncé fans went in on Kelis for allowing the strangers to fumble through her hair, but then had so much “energy” for Queen Bey because she sampled “Milkshake” for her “Energy” single on the Renaissance album.

Even some of Kelis’ own supporters were confused about why she sat there and allowed them to rifle through her hair multiple times.

“I’m glad you grabbed her hair but clearly they didn’t understand how ridiculous it is to touch a stranger,” said one person.

“What was the thumbs up? It was giving shade 😂 but IDK, intrigued/flattered or not. Do not just be touching my hair like I’m some kind of pet. I’m a human minding my good human business and you’re just touching me and IDK with you saying, no,” said a second follower.

A third commenter added: “This happened to me at work and I was disgusted. I had to explain to someone not to pet me. If you’re curious ask questions but don’t touch me! 😔🥴.”

A fourth fan was more philosophical about the bizarre encounter.

themusingsofher had this to say: “The way that we, as Black women have to sit and laugh through their racism will never be lost on me. The unmitigated gall to approach someone you don’t know and treat them like they’re on display in a petting zoo. Kelis, doesn’t owe them her resistance. She doesn’t owe them any sportsmanship, while being dehumanized. It’s unnerving and it’s exhaustingly annoying. I’m sorry you had to experience this.”
