Gunfire erupted at the filming of a video for rapper French Montana that resulted in gunshot injuries to multiple victims in Miami Gardens, Florida, on Thursday evening at approximately 8 p.m. on Jan. 5, 2023.

Miami Gardens is located directly north of Miami.

According to the local police department which relayed the information to CBS4, some sort of confrontation broke out in proximity to the Montana video shoot but not directly on the set. However, the altercation spilled over into the area where the French Montana video was taking place. Police and witnesses estimated that 10-15 shots were fired outside the Licking Restaurant which sent a crowd of people scattering in every direction.

The television station and other outlets in the greater Miami area reported that up to 1o people were struck by bullets. That number has not yet been confirmed by authorities.

Four of the gunshot victims had to be airlifted to Jackson Memorial Hospital. No word on the condition of any of them have been released to the media.

Police are currently combing through multiple videos that were posted on social media as well as extracting surveillance footage from neighboring businesses as part of the investigation.
