Latto says internet crushes her self-esteem, feels like 'old White lady'

Social media has had a corrosive and insidious impact on Latto’s self-esteem to the point where she believes she looks “like an old White woman.”

Appropriately enough, the raptress was speaking with songstress and actress Chlöe Bailey, who just deleted her Twitter account due to the endless blizzard of negativity that bombarded her platforms.

The two starlets were chopping it up on the latest episode of Latto’s “777 Radio” podcast, and the “Big Energy” emcee says the cumulative impact from trolling has ravaged her soul.

“It’s all because of social media,” Latto explained to Bailey. “It just, like you said, [it] heightens your insecurities. I never thought I looked old until I read it on the internet. Now I just think I look like an old white woman.”

Bailey had her own anecdote, saying that mean-spirited music fans constantly blitz her social media platforms with negativity for the most frivolous of reasons.

One time, while adjusting in her chair at the MTV Video Music Awards, Bailey sat up to “just sit and look forward” to avoid comments about her attire because she was wearing a corset. It proved futile because a herd of haters made lewd comments anyhow.

“Next thing you know, I see things going around, ‘She looked like she about to have sex with the chair,'” she said.

“I’m like, ‘Now, hold on. Wait a minute. I can’t just sit down?’ I’m like, ‘Now, I’m not even gyrating on the chair. I am sitting like this.’ I’m sitting like this looking forward.”

Bailey was also cannonaded for her duet with the much-maligned Chris Brown and for the infamous nude scene with Damson Idris in the hit cable series “Swarm.” Now, the internet has her dating Migos rapper Quavo.

“Uh oh, well, we doin’ a movie together,” Bailey said, adding that “I don’t know where that came from.”
