Tyler Perry’s empire just struck gold again.

The multi-hyphenate media mogul just agreed to a new multiyear first look deal with Netflix in which he will write, direct and produce feature films for the streaming powerhouse.

Perry’s new deal with Netflix will no doubt keep him busy as he also has a deal with Prime Video made last November to serve as writer, producer and director for four films for them as well. His new Netflix deal, however, is a rekindling of sorts as Perry has worked with Netflix extensively in the past, including two feature films Six Triple Eight and Mea Culpa, being set up for near future releases.

Kerry Washington will star and serve as executive producer of Six Triple Eight, an inspirational true story of the first and only Women’s Army Corp unit of color to be stationed overseas during World War II. The ensemble cast will also feature Oprah Winfrey and Susan Sarandon.

Mea Culpa, starring Kelly Rowland and Trevante Rhodes, is a suspense thriller about a criminal defense attorney who takes on the case of an artist who may or may not have murdered his girlfriend.

Perry’s upcoming documentary on his life, Maxine’s Baby: The Tyler Perry Story, is set to premiere as the AFI Fest’s centerpiece film on Oct. 27, at the TCL Chinese Theatre in Hollywood.
