Former NFL player Sergio Brown is being charged in his mother’s killing.
Seventy-three-year-old Myrtle Brown’s body was found on Sept. 17. She had been beaten to death and dumped in a creek behind her house in Illinois. During the same time period, Sergio Brown was missing, and his family contacted authorities after they were unable to get in touch with either of them.
“My brother Sergio is still missing. If anyone knows where he is I want him to know that I love you and please come home,” Sergio Brown’s brother said on social media.
Brown then posted a video on his Instagram, speaking of his mother’s death, and his disappearance.
“They kidnapped me twice from home, the Maywood Police Department. It had to be the FBI or the Maywood Police. I thought my momma was on vacation,” Brown said.
“FBI had to do it, they got the power to do some s—,” Brown said. “What the f— is going on, that is fake news. Don’t come f—— with me.”
Brown was taken into custody on Oct. 10 after being detained in Mexico by authorities. On Oct. 25, Brown will appear in court with the hearing set to take place a few miles from where he was accused of killing his mother and dumping her in the creek.
